- An Actor´s TaleAsikainen, Alex Matti(Akademie múzických umění v Praze.Divadelní fakulta, 2020)Datum obhajoby: 2020-10-05In my thesis, I examine a story that I wrote, A Mountain Tale, and reflect on what inspired it, what I was hoping to share through it, and offer a critical account of the process of adapting this Tale to the stage as my final authorial presentation.1 In my earlier studies I graduated from filmmaking and originally this story would have been better suited as a film or animation. Thus, my process of adapting this work into the language of theatre gave me many valuable insights into the work of an authorial actor and also helped define what theatre, acting, and being in a relationship with the audience means to me. The first part of the thesis focuses on the summary of my Tale, examines my inspirations and addresses what I wished to share to the public through my story. In the second part I offer a thorough chronological account on the different theatrical tools and approaches I used to adapt the story, and discuss what sort of obstacles and discoveries appeared while I was rehearsing. Throughout my process I‘m also inspired by texts of renowned theatre practitioners and by bringing this awareness into my practical work I come to understand better what acting means to me. In the final part I form a conclusion and examine the form of my authorial presentation just before the final performance. I also reflect what being on stage means to me now, and look back on the long and diverse journey and consider what were the most essential lessons I learned, and what to consider further.
- Musical Sensitivity and Stage ExpressionAtanasova, Ivana(Akademie múzických umění v Praze.Divadelní fakulta, 2019)Datum obhajoby: 2019-01-15Within this master thesis I would like to express my understanding of the life inside a performer when this act is happening, by the eyes of musical means. Since the inner world is so difficult to be put on paper and made rationalized (could it be at all?!), as well as the sensitivity one could have towards it when performing, I am going to take concrete examples of the colliding points of music and theatre and the moment when they live together on stage. In order to come to the question of the ‘inner rhythm’, something that I imagine as crucial for existing on stage, I would like to examine what happens with the performer’s expression when the musical sensitivity enters the world of creation. Followed by a beat that never stops, I see the performer’s body as a music being navigated and operated. By approaching through my own experiences, this master thesis tends to explore how music and theatre (in their pure, initial form) meet in the performer’s expression and where the possible edge/point when they become one could be.
- The Actor and the TrainingKitanovski, Antonio(Akademie múzických umění v Praze.Divadelní fakulta, 2020)Datum obhajoby: 2020-01-10ABSTRACT The Actor and the Training In this thesis I am going to talk about the experience and knowledge I have gained throughout the years spent in the theatre institutions where I have participated as an actor (Macedonian National Theatre Skopje, National Theatre Bitola, and Turkish Theatre Skopje) and the faculties for theatre arts where I have studied (DAMU and ESRA). Starting from the first trials when I have appeared on the stage as a dilettante till the point of awakening of the theatre matter as a whole and acquiring certain discipline as an answer to the assigned theatre question. Also I will mention phrases, thoughts, theatre problems and solutions seen from the point of view of theatre individuals I have been inspired with and traced my path in this area at the same time. It would be a kind of reflection based on my education that I have gained from my colleagues, pedagogues and books together with my personal experience.
