Abstrakt
Alongside the artistic work I conducted during my M.A. studies at Damu in the programme Directing of Devised and Object Theatre, I investigate artistic strategies of creating participatory performances that the audience actively shapes and influences. I discuss dramaturgical strategies of facilitating participation and investigate what care audiences require to become actively involved in performances. Through the notion of relationship I explore what happens once the audience has become a part of participatory artistic work. I devise and discuss different angles that can be used to analyse or to create performances with active audience involvement. Expanding the notions discussed before, I give a brief overview on how objects can facilitate and shape audience participation and how non-human beings can participate in performances.
