Pedro Meyer is a visionary artist who pioneered the descent into the new technological age of photography. At a time when computers and digital photography were a foreign concept to most professionals in the field, Meyer was switching out traditional cameras, darkrooms and film for the new tools technology had to offer. Combining aspects and details from different photographs by using computers, Meyer made new and more complex images. He mastered the art of altering photographs to bring forth his own point of view. By being able to combine the most interesting facets of different images, Meyer was able to capitalize on the most effective parts of those images and alter them into new pictures which told a much larger story. He took the taboo idea of altering a photograph and made it acceptable in projects such as ( ?I Photograph to remember?,
?Truths and fictions ?).Meyer's visionary intuition into the fact that photography must evolve with the new technologies in order to survive continues to affect new photographers and photography schools throughout the world. His point of view however, raises interesting ideas about the morality, authenticity and copy writing issues behind altering and molding photographs to reflect his own personal views.
